![]() If you have an older model vehicle that did not come with turn signals, use the standard hand and arm signals as shown in the diagrams here. Check your instrument panel to see if you have left a signal on. A driver may think that you plan to turn or make a lane change. It can be as dangerous to forget to turn a signal off as it is to forget to turn it on. Remember to turn off your signal after you have completed your turn or lane change. It is when you do not see the other vehicle that your signals are most important.
